November garden wedding

80 guests · sage / ivory · $18k atmosphere cap

Eighty people, a garden in November, an $18k atmosphere cap, sage and ivory. That is a brief a florist can hear. It is not a Pinterest board.

Sage Orchard is the named atmosphere. Olive and ivory rose, one brass metal, bone cloth — never optical white. Dahlia is in season; garden rose is the dual plan if the window misses. Foam is refused.

The lighting plan is a dusk hand-off: path at ankles, taper at dining, no overhead white after arrival. The Turn is a temperature drop, not a strobe.

Same inputs, same brief, safe to send. If the number moves, the night is renamed in writing before anyone orders stems.

Do not substitute a stem, a metal, or a cloth without asking. Where a season blocks a hero, the legal substitute is named below. Anything else is undeclared.

Hero moments

  • 1. Entrance / threshold — Full threshold statement. Wind-secure mechanics required.
  • 2. Ceremony / focal — Clean frame; avoid overbuild.
  • 3. Bar / lounge magnet — Edited statement piece.
  • 4. Dining tables — Low clusters + candle; fewer hero stems per table.
  • 5. Transitions & restrooms approach — Small repeat motifs beat one orphan arrangement.

Volume math (quote range)

  • 10 tables × 15 stems = 150 dining stems (planning range, not a contract).
  • 10 tables — declared, which puts 8 at each for 80 guests.
  • balanced band sets 18 a table; less but better mode takes it to 15; intensity 3/5 lands it at 15.
  • 1 pedestal / urn moments at threshold or ceremony.
  • Aisle ~12m · 96 stems in meadow or pew-end language.
  • Studio must confirm vessel count, mechanics, and strike. This is planning math.

Season gate · blocked stems

  • BLOCKED Peony: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → Garden rose — in season, clears the same gates, 5-day life.
  • BLOCKED Ranunculus: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → Garden rose — in season, clears the same gates, 5-day life.
  • BLOCKED Phalaenopsis orchid: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → Dendrobium orchid — in season, clears the same gates, 12-day life.
  • BLOCKED Amaryllis: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → No catalog substitute clears every gate. Declare one with the studio or drop the face.
  • BLOCKED Anemone: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → Scabiosa — in season, clears the same gates, 5-day life.
  • BLOCKED Lilac: Will not hold in outdoor exposure. → No catalog substitute clears every gate. Declare one with the studio or drop the face.
  • BLOCKED Dahlia: Thirsty and short-lived on a site with limited water — it will not survive the day. → Chrysanthemum (heirloom) — in season, clears the same gates, 12-day life.

Sustainability

  • Local / seasonal only: out-of-season heroes are blocked; substitutions must be in the season catalog.
  • No floral foam: chicken wire, pin frogs, vessels, or potted mechanics only. Stems that need vials are costed as labour, not as material.
